Shirley Petro-Timura is a writer, poet, and artist. She is a retired public-school teacher and now devotes her time to the Arts.
She holds a BS degree from Southern Connecticut State University and a MA degree from University of California, Riverside.
Her first novel, Tanglewood, is a historical novel set in the slave days prior to the Civil War. She describes it as a cross between Gone With The Wind and Twelve Years a Slave. Narratives recorded during the Depression of former slaves inspired her to write this colorful story. It has received several Five-Star ratings from readers on Amazon. The novel has also been beautifully dramatized on Audible.
Her short stories and poems are published in both the 2019 IEWC Anthology and the 25th Anniversary Anthology Inland Empire California Writers Club.
